Jana seeks to provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients can gain the courage to face the unhealed wounds of the past. She uses an attachment based, somatic, and adaptive information processing model to partner with clients in exploring pain related to issues of safety, identity, and belonging. Jana believes therapy is not a shortcut to healing but rather a safe place where clients develop the ability to be present to their body, mind, emotions, and spirit. She assists clients in increasing their attunement to their present experiences through which the body’s natural response to heal itself is activated.
Jana holds an M.S. in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. She has experience working with adults, teens, and children in private practice, non-profit, and residential settings. She works with people experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, and issues related to spirituality. Additionally, Jana is experienced in using DIR/Floortime to work with children with special needs and is trained in EMDR for the treatment of trauma.
