Lindsey Civitas, MA
Supervised Pre-doctoral Clinician
Lindsey is a Pre-doctoral Clinical Trainee in her final year of her PhD. Lindsey is passionate about client-led, neurodiversity-affirming mental healthcare. She gets excited about the process of coming to understand each client's strengths and challenges; because she believes that each client deserves to feel seen, her practice is led by gentle curiosity and openness. Body-positivity and anti-racism are important components of her theoretical framework, and she presumes competence for both speaking and non-speaking clients.
Clinical Experience:
Lindsey has offered culturally sensitive, trauma-focused care in community mental health settings for three years, treating children, families, and young adults. While she conceptualizes dynamically, her approach to each person is tailored to their unique needs. Whether she's engaging in child-centered play therapy, long-term psychodynamic therapy, using TF-CBT or doing crisis management, her commitment to pursue deep listening and to authenticity is the thread that remains consistent in each individual relationship. Her areas of clinical focus include selective mutism, autism (especially clients who engage in high masking), ADHD, eating disorders, CPTSD, adoption, histories of domestic violence/abuse, depression and anxiety.
