Julie Shine, MA

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist
California Board of Behavioral Sciences

Julie Shine (she/her) is a warm and direct therapist who works with couples, parents and children. She loves helping families build stronger, more satisfying relationships. Whether clients are struggling with conflict in their partnership, navigating a child’s big behaviors, encountering difficulties in their own growth, or seeking more connection with a neurodivergent family member, Julie provides a compassionate and grounded space for change. Drawing from an attachment-based lens, she helps each individual as well as the entire family system identify unique strengths, clarify needs, and communicate more effectively. Julie uses Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and, when working with young children, Play Therapy, to help families thrive.

Clinical Experience:
Julie brings a rich, multidimensional perspective to her work— she has experience as a mother, an attorney, and as a partner. She has worked with busy parents, individuals with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), couples in conflict, and families with young children. She has a deep understanding of how hard it can be to be a parent, a partner, or a child with needs that sometimes conflict with those of others. Julie finds deep fulfillment helping children develop into who they are in a space that also allows parents to be their authentic selves. She is passionate about helping couples form secure, lasting bonds and she takes special joy in working with whole family systems—honoring each individual while fostering a home that feels peaceful, safe, and full of love.
